As a wildlife photographer, Archna has an undeniable connection that forms between the artist and the raw beauty of nature. For her, every shot is an intimate moment captured from the wilderness, a fleeting glance into the lives of creatures that many will never get the chance to witness firsthand. She has an eye for the extraordinary, seeing in the mundane a hidden brilliance that others might overlook. With each click of the camera, she immortalizes the essence of animals in their natural habitats. Her ability to capture the soul of an animal is nothing short of magical—allowing others to experience the wild as she does, with all its raw, untamed energy. I admire her patience, the understanding, and the respect for the creatures she encounters. Her work serves as a powerful reminder of the fragile balance of nature, encouraging conservation and a deeper respect for the ecosystems that sustain life. Through her lens, she educates, inspires, and opens hearts to the importance of preserving the natural world for future generations.

Archna Singh is an outstanding wildlife photographer and her commitment to her subject has stood the test of time. For more than 20 years she has been photographing the wildlife of India in particular but wildlife in general. She is just not photographing the wildlife but is deeply invested in their wellbeing. She is what I would call an activist who uses her medium of photography to bring attention to her subject. I have curated an exhibition of her work back in 2012, and I would say the work still holds its ground. I had the opportunity to experience her among her favourite subject Ranthambore National Park for a 4 days safari. It was a life transforming experience as I got to see the wildlife and also her interaction and commitment first hand. I would say a few are lucky who can visit Ranthambore with her. The park and its history of cats comes alive with Archna’s presence and knowledge.

I had the pleasure of working with Archna Singh for a photoshoot project on behalf of Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. for our gearbox division based in Mysuru in 2019. Archna’s professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. The project was completed on time, and all deliverables were met as per our initial agreement. The photographs were of the highest quality—high-resolution images that perfectly matched the brief we provided. Additionally, the editing of the images was done to a high standard, further enhancing the final result. It was a seamless experience working with Archna, and I highly recommend her for any photography projects.

We had the very great pleasure and good fortune to meet Archna after we became captivated by the tigers of Ranthambore, and discovered her stunning and powerful photographic work. Having made contact we hit it off straight away, met in London at the launch of Remembering Tigers, and were absolutely thrilled when Archna kindly agreed to guide us on our safari in Ranthambore in February this year. Not only did she arrange everything, and I mean everything, as regards our safari, but no stone was unturned in the thoughtfulness and kindness of her advice and preparation. And it was thus with no little excitement that we met again in Ranthambore for the first of our six game drives. Of course much of the anticipation is tiger led, but the three days we spent with Archna was so much more. The tigers are but part of the Park, and it was the Park which we got to know and love with its extraordinary and varied landscapes, its exquisite and manifold wildlife, and amongst all of this its wondrous tigers. Archna’s depth of knowledge and experience is boundless, but it is her wonderfully infectious passion for her subject which made our time with her such a delight. We had the privilege of being driven by her long term tracker Canter, whose knowledge of the Park is, I suspect, beyond compare, and whose knowing smile and innate sixth sense are to marvel at. But the greatest legacy from our time together are the bonds we made and friendships we forged in just three all too short days, borne not simply from Archna’s professionalism and generosity of spirit, but, frankly, from her joyous sense of fun, warmth and kindness. The high level of respect and admiration in which Archna is held by all those closely connected with the Park was abundantly clear to us from our first entry to it – in our inexperienced and humble view, that is no surprise at all. Her photographs of our time together are simply breathtaking and are the most wondrous memories of an incredibly special time.

I have had the privilege of witnessing Archna's incredible journey over the last two decades as she tirelessly explores and photographs various forests. Her passion, skill, dedication, and boundless energy continue to amaze me. Archna captures her subjects in their purest form, demonstrating a deep understanding of her camera and technique. Her descriptions of her pictures are eloquent and insightful. She was also kind enough to help me edit my book Silent Sentinels of Ranthambhore, and I am truly grateful for her invaluable assistance.
